Never Fear

As an author, I sometimes (okay, maybe more than that!) find the hardest part of writing is my lack of self-confidence, especially as I get close to publication. I try to remind myself that as hard as I’ve tried, I’ll never please everyone — and that if no one had ever dared, the wheel never would’ve been invented.

Never fear failure; it only leads to success. Never cower in self-doubt; naysayers will always rain on your parade, even on the sunniest day. And don’t worry about being the “different” one; this world would be so boring if everyone was exactly the same.

I lost my baby girl this morning, due to fatal kidney disease. Bella, the bottle baby I rescued when she was just three days old, who always walked softly but had a huge heart, who gave kisses to everyone she loved, and was the best soccer ball fetcher you’ll ever see… she left multiple footprints on my own heart these past fifteen years, and one more this morning, as she left me. I’ll miss her forever.

“Essex Valley: A Quiet, Nice Little Town”

My fourth book, published in 2016, is a crime mystery, and takes place in northern California’s Redwood Empire. After Sheriff’s Captain Evan Spicer and his teenage daughter, Stevie, suffer a tragic personal loss, he sells their family home in Seattle, and moves them to Essex Valley, in search of a new life for them both.

But unusual people, peculiar situations and strange occurrences soon leave him wondering whether he’s made a huge mistake. Has this move put them in danger? Does something sinister lurk in the deep redwood hollow they call Essex Valley?

Life always has surprises, and everyone has secrets… except some could be deadly.

Available from Amazon in both Kindle and paperback versions.

“Isle of OZ: An Accidental Adventure”

You’ll find no Dorothy, Toto or flying monkeys in this book! What you will find are two polar opposites named Olivia and Zackariah — she, a snotty reporter and he, a Navy Seal Commander — who’ve just survived a horrific plane crash at sea. After their life raft washes ashore, they’re stranded together on an uncharted island. While Zack knows the dangers all too well, Olivia can’t seem to figure out they’re in any trouble at all, and proves her cluelessness is more harmful than the pirates they’re suddenly trying to evade. Zack deserves much credit, as most people would’ve simply thrown Olivia out of their life raft and into the deep blue sea the very first day.

A short, fun, romantic comedy, this is my third book, published in 2015. Available from Amazon in both Kindle and paperback versions.

“Colt’s Filly”

Book #2 in the Bishop series, Colt’s Filly, follows Missing Elizabeth, and was published in 2015, my second book. It’s an intriguing crime/murder mystery wrapped inside a story of healing, and the power of love.

Available in both Kindle and paperback versions.

“Missing Elizabeth”

Missing Elizabeth is the first book I ever wrote, published in 2014. It is also first in the Bishop series. Elizabeth, my main character, knocked on the walls of my mind for almost a decade, until I finally sat down one afternoon at my computer, to write her story.

A stockholm-syndrome “romance”, it’s a twisted love story of loneliness, fear, courage and hope; a great read with a surprise ending. I suggest some tissues.

Available from Amazon in both Kindle and paperback versions.
